ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE:
$33,500 - $35,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package to include membership in the Arizona State Retirement System PLEASE NOTE:
All positions at Cochise County require a pre-employment background screening.
PLEASE NOTE:
Position is grant funded with employment contingent upon continued grant funding.
Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in a public health setting; providing services, education, support and advocacy through public health programs to individuals, families, groups, businesses and community organizations.
May perform other related work as required or assigned.
Essential Functions TYPICAL DUTIES:
(Illustrative Only) Uses established guidelines to evaluate and determine eligibility for public health/nutrition programs; conducts health screenings and evaluates results; develops, selects, and revises educational materials; develops and implements educational plans; provides preventive health education; evaluates individuals, families and/or groups for other health, economic and social needs; maintains referral and outreach network; conducts marketing and outreach to increase services; provides referral of client families/groups to other social programs; ensures accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in health care, medical care, early childhood, special education, elementary education, secondary education, social work, nutrition, or closely related field PLUS one (1) year of related experience OR three (3) years of related experience including health care, medical care, early childhood, special education, elementary education, secondary education, social work, nutrition,An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of this classification may be considered.
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and the ability to be covered by county insurance.
Preference may be given to applicants who are bilingual in English and Spanish, in speaking, reading, and writing.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of:
fundamental theories, concepts and methods of health education; teaching and counseling methods applicable to health education; public health programs, functions, and services; prevention/control methods of communicable diseases; basic health care practices and collection of health information; the organization of health and nutrition services and referral resources; the principles of adult learning and teaching skills; dynamics of social interaction and behavior.
Working skill in:
gathering & evaluating data; implementing health education programs; interpreting and following policies and procedures; eliciting information through interviews and collecting client information; training and counseling techniques; office practices and procedures to include the use of computer programs.
Ability to:
establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public; follow the policy and procedure manual for the program; prepare and maintain records, charts and reports; applying pertinent rules and regulations required to conduct eligibility tasks; follow written and verbal instruction; read, write and speak English; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; work well with people of varied socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed under general supervision.
Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls and travel between work locations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Essential functions of this position require:
lifting, manual dexterity, fine or large motor skills, ability to communicate.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds requires a good deal of walking or standing.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
